Celestial Receipts: Tales From the Crypt

Tales from the Crypt is the theme of the April 19, 2026, episode of the Celestial Insights Podcast. As I expected, cryptocurrency made big news. 

According to Reuters reporting, ships attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz were targeted by scammers posing as authorities, who asked for cryptocurrency payments for safe passage. At least two vessels paid the fee… and were still fired upon.

When you look at the sky, it lines up.

We had Venus applying to conjunct Uranus at 29° Taurus, a critical degree around money and resources. Uranus disrupts and exposes, and in Taurus, it shows up through financial systems. Crypto, in particular, fits right into that symbolism. Unregulated, decentralized, and in moments like this, vulnerable to manipulation.

Then we see Mars moving into conjunction with Saturn in Aries.

Mars is conflict and action.
Saturn is reality and consequence.

Together, especially in Aries, this can look like force meeting force, or actions having immediate and serious consequences. These ships weren’t just dealing with a scam. They were in a high-risk environment where the stakes are real.

And Mercury is part of this story as well. Mercury rules communication, transactions, and information. In this case, it’s the message that was received and believed. The instructions that seemed legitimate, but weren’t.

So when you put it together:

Mercury → the message, the transaction

Venus in Taurus → the money, the payment

Uranus → the disruption, the scam

Mars–Saturn in Aries → the consequence, the danger

This is a clear example of how quickly things can escalate when misinformation meets unstable conditions.

Tales from the Crypt plays out here in a very modern way. The “crypt” is crypto. It’s digital trust, digital currency, and the risks that come with both, especially in uncertain environments.

As we move into next week, the focus shifts.
