The Edge of Change

I hope you are doing well as we move through this time of tremendous change.

Before we get into the astrology, I want to share that I’ll be presenting virtually for the Astrological Society of Connecticut (ASC) this week. I’ll be giving a lecture on mundane astrology on Thursday evening, followed by a five-hour workshop on Lunar Planning on Saturday. I would truly love to meet you there if you feel called to join.

A Collective Threshold

There is something very striking happening in the sky.

Since last fall, many of the New Moons have been occurring at 28° and 29°, the final degrees of a sign. These are often referred to as degrees of crisis and decay. They mark a point of culmination, where something has reached its end and cannot continue in the same form.

This week’s New Moon arrives at 28°of Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac. We are standing at the edge of an ending.

Pisces brings themes of dissolution, surrender, and release. On a collective level, this can look like systems weakening, narratives unraveling, chaos, and realities shifting in ways that feel unclear or overwhelming.

Pisces also rules oil, water, and drugs. We are already seeing how themes around fuel, access, and global flows are becoming more visible and more strained because of the war in Iran. As reported by the BBC, in Sri Lanka, every Wednesday is now a holiday for public workers due to the fuel shortages. When these Piscean topics are activated at such a critical degree, the impact tends to be felt on a broad scale. Expect more news about movement restrictions.

At the same time, this New Moon is sextile Uranus in Taurus. Uranus brings disruption, shock, and rapid change, while Taurus governs resources, money, and stability. Together, this speaks to volatility in the material world, especially around supply, cost, and security.

Even travel may reflect this energy. Uranus rules aviation, and with shifting conditions around fuel and resources, people may begin rethinking vacation plans. There can be a move toward simplicity, staying closer to home, or reconsidering what feels sustainable.

The Other Side of Pisces

While there is a clear collective intensity, we cannot forget the higher expression of Pisces.

Pisces governs compassion, intuition, and creativity.

This New Moon is an invitation to soften, to listen, and to reconnect with your inner knowing.

If you do not already have a daily intuitive practice, this is a beautiful time to begin one. Something as simple as pulling an oracle or tarot card each morning and reflecting on how it unfolds throughout your day can deepen your awareness in profound ways.

Pisces reminds us that not everything needs to be controlled or understood immediately. Some things are meant to be felt, trusted, and allowed.

A Practice for This Moment

Pisces teaches surrender, and one of the most grounding tools for this energy is the Serenity Prayer:

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.”

This is Pisces wisdom.

Knowing what is yours to carry and what is not will be essential as we move through this time.

Taking Care of Yourself

It is really important to take care of yourself right now.

Pisces energy is highly absorptive. The emotional tone of the collective can seep in quickly, especially for those who are sensitive or intuitive.

Clear your energy.
Rest when you need to.
Create space for stillness.

We are moving toward an Aries season that will bring action, intensity, and initiation. Tending to your inner world now will help you meet what is coming with greater clarity and strength.

Cosmic Conversation with Jeff Hinshaw

I recently had a beautiful Cosmic Conversation with Jeff Hinshaw, where we explored his collaboration with Lonely Planet on a travel tarot deck.

It was such a rich and inspiring discussion, especially in a moment where Pisces is inviting us to explore meaning, symbolism, and the journey of the soul.

Be sure to watch the conversation and explore the deck through the link.

Celestial Insights Podcast Word of the Day

Sunday – COLLISION

Mercury retrograde meets Mars in Pisces. Beware of impulsivity. This can literally show up as accidents, misunderstandings, or people acting recklessly.

Tension can build quickly in the collective with this transit. Stay aware of your surroundings and avoid unnecessary conflict or risky situations, especially late at night or around alcohol.

Prompt: Where do I need to pause before reacting?

Monday – DISPERSAL

The Aquarius Moon squares Uranus in Taurus. Plans may shift suddenly, especially involving groups or travel. Stay flexible and let disruptions redirect you.

Collectively, something unsettles the atmosphere and energy scatters. As the Moon moves into Pisces, compassion and empathy can help soften agitation and bring emotional calm.

Prompt: How can I replace frustration with compassion today?

Tuesday – FURY

The Moon meets the North Node, Mercury retrograde, and Mars in Pisces. Strong emotions can surge, and you may feel overwhelmed by news or by the reactions of others.

Collectively, this can bring anger, protests, or emotional outpouring around moral or humanitarian issues. The energy is intense and amplified, so channel feelings into conscious action rather than chaos.

Prompt: What emotion is asking me to act with purpose?

Wednesday – EXPOSÉ

Venus in Aries squares Jupiter in Cancer while the Pisces New Moon sextile Uranus begins a new cycle. Pay attention to what is revealed about money, values, or priorities in your own life.

Collectively, this energy can spotlight hidden spending or surprising revelations. Pisces dissolves illusions while Uranus can bring sudden truth to the surface.

Prompt: What truth am I ready to see clearly?

Thursday – FIREWALL

The Aries Moon meets Saturn in Aries. You may feel the need to put up a boundary or protect your time and energy.

Collectively, this transit emphasizes limits and accountability. Boundaries may be drawn around resources, responsibilities, or family matters.

Prompt: Where do I need to set a stronger boundary?

Friday – PAYBACK

The Moon meets Venus in Aries as the Sun enters Aries and Mercury stations direct in Pisces. You may feel ready to go after what you want with confidence and clarity.

Collectively, conversations and news intensify as information begins to move forward again. Momentum returns after weeks of confusion.

Prompt: What bold step am I ready to take?

Saturday – HAZING

The Taurus Moon squares Pluto in Aquarius. You may notice pressure from a group or a situation that feels intense or uncomfortable.

Collectively, this energy highlights issues around conformity and excess. Honor your body and your instincts if something feels unhealthy or too much.

Prompt: Where do I need to choose self-respect over fitting in?
