The second half of 2026 is arriving faster than many of us imagined.
The pace of change is accelerating. One story barely settles before another unfolds, and collectively we're entering a period where adaptability will become one of our greatest strengths. That's why this week's Capricorn Full Moon offers such a valuable invitation to pause before life speeds up again.
Before we dive into this week's astrology, I'd love for you to join me, Sarah L'Hrar, and Tiffany Harelik for Reframing the Vision: A Mid-Year Astrology Check-In.
We're doing something completely new. We'll be selecting a few audience members for live hot takes on their birth charts, giving you the opportunity to hear three astrologers interpret the same chart from different perspectives. We'll also explore the Barbault Basket, the upcoming eclipse season, Mercury and Venus retrogrades, Jupiter's entrance into Leo, and the major themes shaping the rest of 2026. If you can't attend live, you'll receive the recording.
The Capricorn Full Moon: What Are You Ready to Put Down?
The Full Moon at 8° Capricorn on June 29 is a culmination point.
Capricorn is the sign of ambition, discipline, mastery, responsibility, achievement, government, business, institutions, leadership, and legacy. This Full Moon invites you to step back and honestly assess your life.
To me, this Full Moon has strong Ten of Wands energy. Sometimes growth doesn't come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from putting something down.
Perhaps it's an obligation, perfectionism, or simply trying to hold everything together for everyone else.
This is an excellent lunation for simplifying your life, delegating responsibilities, strengthening boundaries, and deciding what legacy you actually want to create, rather than simply reacting to whatever demands your attention.
Mercury Retrograde: Three Coats of Paint
Adding to this reflective atmosphere, Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer on the same day as the Full Moon and remains retrograde until July 23.
If you know your birth chart, Mercury travels from 26 degrees back to 16 degrees of Cancer. Astrologer Rebecca Gordon says retrogrades give that part of your chart three coats of paint. Each pass helps you notice something you missed before.
Although Mercury retrograde has a challenging reputation, I'm actually enjoying this one so far.
During the shadow period, several small but persistent problems have finally begun resolving. I fixed an email issue that had quietly bothered me for nearly a year. I've received unexpected help with projects, including additional support for the Kepler College transits class I'll be teaching this fall.
Mercury retrograde does not just create obstacles; it clears them.
Of course, some plans will still change. Trips may be delayed, agreements may need to be revisited, and conversations you thought were finished may begin again. Rather than becoming frustrated, ask yourself:
What is this sacred pause giving me the opportunity to improve?
Watch the Weather
One of my biggest concerns this week is actually the weather or other natural world events.
Mars has entered Gemini and is rapidly approaching Uranus, with their conjunction perfecting around July 3 and 4.
Gemini is an air sign, and Mars-Uranus can correspond with powerful winds, severe storms, transportation disruptions, rapidly changing conditions, and unexpected events.
If you're traveling over the July 4 holiday or attending outdoor celebrations, stay flexible.
Pay attention to weather forecasts. Strong winds may delay flights, postpone celebrations, or create hazardous conditions around fireworks and temporary structures, as well as around falling tree limbs.
A change of plans could ultimately become the safest plan.
Mars moving toward its conjunction with Uranus also increases the potential for sudden conflicts, unexpected confrontations, and rapidly changing situations.
Because Mercury is retrograde, misunderstandings can escalate more easily, and people may react before they have all the facts. Before engaging in an argument, responding to a social media post, or taking a firm position, pause and ask whether the conversation is worth your energy. Not every disagreement deserves your attention.
On the collective level, Mars-Uranus often corresponds with protests, attacks, demonstrations, labor disputes, cyber disruptions, and unexpected political upheaval. We are already seeing unrest in places like Lebanon, where people have taken to the streets. This transit reminds us that conditions can shift quickly, and movements that have been building beneath the surface may suddenly burst into public view. Flexibility, situational awareness, and thoughtful responses will serve you far better than impulsive reactions.
Jupiter Enters Leo: Let Yourself Shine
After spending the past year in Cancer, Jupiter enters Leo on June 29, beginning a year-long journey through one of the zodiac's most creative, expressive, and life-affirming signs.
The energy shifts toward celebrating, creating, and stepping confidently into the spotlight. Leo reminds us that life isn't only about responsibility. It also includes joy, play, creativity, romance, and the ability to allow ourselves to be seen.
After the seriousness of this Capricorn Full Moon, Jupiter in Leo feels like someone opening the curtains and letting sunlight flood into the room.
This is a wonderful time to explore your creativity, take up a hobby, dance, reconnect with your inner child, and remember what makes your heart come alive. If you have Leo placements in your chart, you may experience new opportunities, recognition, mentors, increased confidence, or a renewed belief in what's possible.
That said, this isn't simply a year of fun and games. On July 26, the draining South Node enters Leo, beginning a collective process of releasing the shadow expressions of the sign. Over time, we'll be asked to let go of egomania, excessive pride, attention-seeking, and the need for external validation. The highest expression of Leo isn't demanding the spotlight. It's leading from the heart and inspiring others to shine alongside you.

Celeste
